Cross-country skiing - 2 cross-country trails start directly in the town. The Loisach valley trail passes through incredible scenery, light meadow forests and over meadows on the way to Oberau and is suitable for all skiing levels. The links between many different trails mean that you can even ski to Eschenlohe. Cross-country skiing equipment can be hired in the town.

Our ski lift "Am Ried" has a snowmaking facility; the slope is ideally suited to beginners, young people and children.

Winter sports in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
The winter sports center of Garmisch-Partenkirchen is only 3 kilometers (1.8 miles) from the Zugspitz Hotel. You can enjoy world-class winter sports here from November to well into spring. One of the highlights is the 3.9 kilometer (2.4 mile) tobogganing slope at the Hausberg or the 1.6 kilometer (1 mile) run from the St. Martin hut "am Grasberg"

Partnachklamm - the Partnach gorge is unique in the winter: A natural feature near Garmisch-Partenkirchen which is 702 meters (767 yards) long and cut down to a depth of 80 meters (262 feet) in part by the Partnach mountain torrent. Experience the natural spectacle of water, waterfalls, spume and ice in winter. Nature can be so lively.

Our free town bus will take you to your chosen ski runs or hiking trails.
